Welcome to Slovenia and its beloved capital! Transfer from Ljubljana Airport to your tour hotel. Meet with your Tour Director and get to know the details of your tour. Free time and overnight in Ljubljana.

Start your day with a visit of colourful capital, Ljubljana. Your guide will take you around and show you the most important attractions, such as Prešeren Square, Triple Bridge, Fish Market, Town Hall and many others. To wrap up the whole Ljubljana story, you will also take funicular up to the castle hill, to learn more about Ljubljana and Slovenia history and of course admire amazing view from the top. Afternoon will be free at leisure, to enjoy city on your own. (B)

Optional: Slovenian folklore dinner

Drive to Maribor and begin with sightseeing of the second largest city in Slovenia, known as the city with the oldest grapevine in the world which counts more than 400 years. The guide will take you through the old town by the river, where you will stop for wine tasting. Some free time and then continue to Ptuj, the oldest city in Slovenia. It was the Romans who left a very strong mark here, with their gravestones, temples and roads and back then the city was known as Petovio. Later drive back to Ljubljana for overnight. (B, T)

Your adventure will continue to the underworld, more exactly Karst underworld. Your first stop is Predjama, amazing Renaissance fortress, built within a cave, is not at all the kind of castle you are familiar with. Even Guinness book of records listed it biggest castle ever built inside a rock. It will definitely leave you speechless. Enter the queen of caves, Postojna, the only cave in the world with a train in it. The cave offers a unique experience of the underworld. After breathtaking underground walk, free time for lunch and afternoon drive to Slovenian seaside. Accommodation in one of the seaside resorts and free time to relax on the beach. (B)

In the morning we take a guided tour of the small, boutique town of Piran. This Slovenian jewel used to be part of the Venetian Republic, so the city’s architecture quite reminicent of Venice and is absolutely one of the most adorable cities in the world. After free time for coffee by the sea, you will visit Koper, a Slovenian coastal town that once used to be an island. Its medieval streets are just perfect for afternoon wandering. Lunch and free time to enjoy Slovenian seaside and relax. (B, L)

After breakfast drive back to Karst region, to discover another story, this time about horses. You will meet a special breed of horse, called Lipizzaner. These special horses were bred for the Habsburg Monarchy and are famous for being born black and becoming white while growing up. After a very interesting visit of the historical stud farm, continue to emerald Soča Valley. The region used to be part of the well-known Isonzo front in WWI, and most importantly, the 12th happened in Caporetto (Kobarid) which is right in the heart of the valley where a WWI museum is located. Museum visit after lunch and afternoon drive to Julian Alps region, where magical views and pristine nature is waiting for you. Overnight in Bohinj or Bled. (B, L)

Time for an Alpine fairy tale! With immense natural beauty, Bled, together with its surroundings and magnificent lake with an island, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts of the world. The amazing castle on the cliff offers stunning views of the region, while an island in the middle of the lake can be visited by a traditional boat called a ‘Pletna’. After lunch, continue to the largest alpine lake in Slovenia, Lake Bohinj. You will take a funicular to Mt Vogel top, where your breath will be taken away by unforgettable views of Triglav National Park. Some free time to admire its natural beauty and relax on the lake shore. In the evening join the group for a Farewell Dinner where you will talk about most memorable moments of the tour and plan for new ones. Overnight in Bohinj or Bled. (B, L, D)
