Liguria, Northern Italy
Liguria is a region situated in northwest Italy. Its famous Mediterranean coastline is known as the Italian Riviera. On the eastern coast is the Cinque Terre and the western coast is home to Sanremo.

Carrara Marble Caves
Famous for their white marble, these caves in the Apua Mountains serve as studios of stone sculpting and bronze art, where famous artists and sculptors from all over the world come to work.
Cinque Terre
Centuries-old villages on the rugged Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 towns, colorful houses & vineyards cling to steep terraces, harbors are filled with fishing boats & trattorias cook local food.
Genoa
Genoa is a large port city. A great destination for a weekend break or a good starting point for a tour along the Italian Riveria.
Gulf of Poets
The Gulf is a beautiful area full of little villages, gorgeous colors and steep cliffs that disappear into the blue waters below. It was a favorite of writers like Shelley, Byron, Petrarca & Montale.
La Spezia
La Spezia owes most of its development to the 1860s, when the Naval Arsenal was built here. It is still a heavily naval town, and in close proximity to tourist spots such as the Cinque Terre.
Portofino
A charming fishing village that has become a stop-off point for the yachting set. This painted harbour settlement exudes an air of tranquillity, and it's certainly a must for visitors to the area.
Portovenere
Portovenere, a small and compact town is popular with daytrippers. It is also a calm and attractive place to stay. Using boats, buses and cars you can use it as a base for seeing more of the area.
Santa Margherita Ligure
Santa Margherita Ligure is a wonderfully old-fashioned Riviera resort town where palm fronds wave along the esplanade and visitors can enjoy the balmy climate and attractive views.
Sestri Levante
A beautiful little town on the Ligurian Riviera located halfway between Genoa and La Spezia. Once a quiet fishing village, it is slowly turning into a tourist destination.
Rapallo
Rapallo has a seaside feel. Enjoy a cafe stop among the narrow alleyways in the historic centre, a gelato alongside the seafront or head on a day trip by ferry to San Fruttuoso beach and Abbey.
