Day by day Itinerary
Day 1
Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento
Meet the tour assistant at Rome Termini Station at 0830HRS (meeting point on Via Marsala in front of the pharmacy), before boarding the high-speed train to Naples. You will be met by a local assistant at Naples train station (meeting point in front of the fountain inside the station, on the left with your back to the platforms). Proceed to Pompeii for a private guided tour of the archaeological excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed and buried when Vesuvius erupted in 79AD, preserving it under a sea of volcanic ash for nearly 1,700 years. At the end of the visit, transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and the character filled charm of the fisherman’s village at Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures. A local assistant welcomes you to the hotel during check-in and will provide you with all the information for tomorrow’s Capri excursion and any further transfers and activities. Overnight at the hotel in Sorrento.
Note: Optional private transfer is available at extra cost from hotels in Rome to the Rome Termini Station from 0700HRS to 0745HRS. Please let us know if you would like to include it into your booking.
Day 2
Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento
Breakfast at the hotel this morning and departure for the port, according to the details provided by the tour assistant. Sail to Capri by traditional Gozzo Sorrentino and enjoy a boat trip around the island and the chance to swim in the crystal-clear waters or visit the Blue Grotto (optional entrance paid on the spot, weather permitting). After landing on the island continue by minibus to discover and reach the legendary Piazzetta, the heart of the island. Enjoy some free time to explore Capri at your own pace. Return to the port to head back to Sorrento. Overnight at the hotel in Sorrento. (B)
Day 3
Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi
Breakfast at the hotel followed by hotel pick up at 1100HRS for a transfer from Sorrento to Amalfi, which will include a 2-hour stop in Positano to discover the pearl of the Amalfi Coast. Proceed to Amalfi, a town rich in history that gives its name to the entire coastline. After check-in at the hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Amalfi. (B)
Day 4
Amalfi
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a day at leisure for exploring the beauty of the area. We recommend participating in an optional tour such as a walking tour of Ravello, one of the most enchanting places in Italy, or you can taste the true essence of the Amalfi Coast on a Classic Lemon Tour where you will discover all the phases of Limoncello production in a ‘Limonaia’, a gorgeous lemon garden. Overnight at the hotel in Amalfi. (B)
Day 5
Amalfi - Naples - Rome
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. The morning is at leisure in Amalfi. At approximately 1530HRS take the direct transfer from Amalfi to Naples where a local assistant will meet you at Naples train station and help you to board the high-speed direct train from Naples to Rome Termini Station. The train is scheduled to arrive at approximately 1900HRS in Rome. (B)

In case of bad weather, the excursion could be replaced with a guided regular group tour of Capri by ferry. In this case, the visit of the island is guaranteed but the itinerary and the inclusions may undergo small variations. Optional visit to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting) with lunch, entrance paid on the spot.

Important Notes

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS VALID FOR SEMI-ESCORTED TOURS
RATES
All rates are quoted in New Zealand Dollars per person. Tourist tax is never included and must be paid locally.
HOTELS
Local Operator reserves the right to substitute hotels in case of Force Majeure, always before the client's arrival. A replacement hotel of the same or higher category will be provided at no extra charge. The name of the hotels will be available 5 days before the start of the tour.
START & END OF SERVICES
The services provided by the Local Operator are land services, beginning when the customer receives the first scheduled service operated by the Local Operator (always after border and customs procedures) and ending when the customer receives the last scheduled service. Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator cannot take any responsibility for circumstances arising from services not provided by Local Operator (problems that may arise in customs / border, overbooking in air spaces, loss / deterioration of luggage on flights etc).
SALES
All SEMI ESCORTED packages are FREE SALE with the exception of SORRENTO DREAM, NAPLES EXPRESS & SORRENTO, NAPLES ESCAPE & SORRENTO. Local Operators will try to confirm tours within a maximum of 72h or offer valid alternative.
TRAIN TICKET RESERVATION POLICY
Train tickets included in SEMI ESCORTED packages will be booked according to the daily schedule indicated. Therefore, it is not possible to choose the train times included in the programme at the time of booking. Any request for changes in train ticket schedules will be the responsibility of the customer and will relieve Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator of any liability related to changes in travel times.
HEALTH CONDITIONS OF PASSENGERS
In the case of a passenger with special needs, Croatia Times Travel must be informed at the time of booking. Local Operator may establish special booking conditions for those passengers whose physical or health conditions require dedicated assistance and may not allow the normal course of the tour. If this information is not provided at the time of booking, Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator will not be responsible for any disruptions.
PICK-UP TIMES
Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator are not responsible in the event that the traveller fails to appear at the designated meeting point without prior notice to the Local Operator’s tour manager / assistant / emergency line and misses a scheduled transfer / excursion / tour etc.
TRIPLE ROOM RECOMMENDATION
In many hotels in Italy, triple rooms do not exist; they are in fact a double room with an extra bed or sofa bed. Their comfort conditions are below the international standards of triple rooms. Booking a triple room implies acceptance of this fact. Triple rooms are always on request: the actual room layout will be specified at the time of booking.
LUGGAGE - LIABILITY LIMITS
You are allowed to have 1 suitcase and 1 bag (for a maximum of 30kg in total) per person during the tour. Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator assume no responsibility for the loss or theft of unlabelled luggage, and no responsibility for damage to luggage caused by normal transportation such as scratches, cuts and similar damage.
TRAVEL DELAY
Train travel, as well as other forms of transportation, are subject to delays and interruptions in service. Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator are not responsible, in whole or in part, for any delay, delayed departure or arrival or missed connection by the carrier or for the loss of any purchased services that cannot be used due to delays or service interruptions. Any inefficiencies related to rail transportation are not the responsibility of Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator, which will not handle any type of claim or request for reimbursement but will simply provide the carrier's contact information to file any claims.
MISSED DEPARTURE
Train Departure: The customer must purchase a new train ticket through Local Operator or independently. In the event that the new train ticket does not allow arrival in time for the scheduled visits or activities in the city of arrival, the customer will not be entitled to any reimbursement for missed activities. Departure of SEMI ESCORTED package: 100% penalty for all unused services. Customers participating in a SEMI ESCORTED package may communicate with Local Operator's emergency line for further details.
LIABILITY
Croatia Times Travel is acting as a booking Agent for the Local Operator. Local Operator, in undertaking tours, transportation, hotel accommodations and other services, acts only as an intermediary agent with the clear understanding that it, or Croatia Times Travel will in no way be held liable for any accident, damage, loss, delay or inconvenience caused in connection with travel arrangements arranged by the Company, its employees or agents.
COMPLAINTS
Complaints regarding all services (except rail transportation services) should be addressed to the Local Operator on the spot without delay and be confirmed in writing. If the matter cannot be resolved on the spot, Local Operator must be notified in writing within 21 days of the conclusion of the services. Subsequent complaints will not be considered. All information on this webpage is correct at the time of publication. Croatia Times Travel and Local Operator reserve the right to change the information and/or content at any time and without notice in case of errors or changed conditions related, for example, to contracts with suppliers or different costs for local regulations. This contract is governed by Italian law. In the event that the contract cannot be executed due to contingent measures relating to the Client's country of origin or destination, Italian laws and regulations will apply, with particular regard to those that may prevent the stay due to epidemics, pandemics or other completely unforeseeable events, as well as the provisions that will regulate the economic relations between the parties.
