Athens needs no introduction, it is the capital of Greece and one of the oldest cities in the world. Athens Piraeus Port is Europe’s largest, it is also the gateway to the Greek islands. There are two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the famous Acropolis of Athens and Daphni Monastery. There is so much to see and do in Athens, from museums to monuments, such as New Acropolis Museum, Panathinaikos Stadium, that first housed the modern-day Olympics Games. Another event worth the visit is on Syntagma Square, watching the changing of the guards. Athens is easy to get to with a modern international airport, you can also arrive by ferry.
