Known for its cultural heritage and beauty and often called the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, the old city of Dubrovnik is proudly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Must see and do’s while in Dubrovnik include entering the fortified city with its narrow cobbled stone streets leading off the many small squares and walking the city walls. Visit the Duke’s Palace, and the oldest pharmacy in the South of Europe, browse the centuries-old buildings; visiting the many libraries, churches and monasteries which are accessible by its two town gates; Ploče in the East and Pile to the West. Both lead to the main centre “Placa”, traditionally known as “Stradun”. Surrounding the old city is the tourist area of Ploce in the South – East, Lapad Peninsula popular for its beaches to the West, and to the North is the main port of Gruž and Dubrovnik Marina.
