Day 1, Saturday: Split

You will be transferred from Split Airport or your Split hotel to the harbour, where embarkation begins at noon. Get settled in your cabin before attending a welcome reception this evening. (WR)

Day 2, Sunday: Split – Bol (Brač) – Stari Grad (Hvar)

Morning guided walking tour of Split shows us the historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, it’s Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. Set sail towards Bol, a small town on Island Brač, for a swim at the Golden Horn. Enjoy the 530-metre-long, golden pebble beach, said to be the best in Croatia. It is unique in that it changes shape and position depending on the winds. Afterwards head to Hvar, one of the most popular islands on the Adriatic and a meeting point for the international jet-set. The “Croatian Madeira” is also one of the longest islands stretching along the shores of Croatia. Spend evening and night in Stari Grad, one of the oldest towns in Europe. (B, L)

Day 3, Monday: Stari Grad (Hvar) – Hvar – Vis

Quick sail towards town of Hvar for a sightseeing tour featuring the first public theatre in Europe (older than Shakespeare’s theatre in the UK), the Franciscan Monastery and many more historical sights. Cruise towards Island of Vis and the town of the same name. The antique Issa was founded about 397 BC. Our tour of Vis features the town’s waterfront. Evening is at leisure. (B, L)

Day 4, Tuesday: Vis – Vela Luka

After breakfast set sail for Korčula island, thought to be the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. Our port of call for the day is town of Vela Luka, dating back to pre-historic times. We will see a valuable archaeological collection of objects on display in the Culture Centre Museum that have been found in the nearby “Vela Spilja”, the cave that has been continuously inhabited from the early Stone Age (about 20,000 BC), through the Iron Age and Copper Age. (B, L)

Day 5, Wednesday: Vela Luka – Korčula

There will be some time for swimming before we continue our cruise, heading for Korčula town. We will take a walking tour through its narrow, cobbled streets and visit the majestic Gothic Baroque Cathedral of St Mark. Your evening is free to discover the town and enjoy dinner on your own at one of many local restaurants. (B, L)

Day 6, Thursday: Korčula – Mljet

Today we set sail for island of Mljet and Mljet National Park, which encompasses five types of forests, many species of birds, and two deep lakes, Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Small Lake). This lovely island was supposedly a favourite holiday spot for the Greek hero Ulysses. Captain’s dinner with live entertainment aboard our ship tonight. (B, L, D)

Day 7, Friday: Mljet – Dubrovnik

In the morning sail to Dubrovnik, the “Pearl of the Adriatic”, a UNESCO World Heritage site. While in Dubrovnik, take a walking tour of the old town and visit the Rector’s Palace and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. Remainder of the day is free; perhaps discover this lovely city on your own. (B, L)

Day 8, Saturday: Dubrovnik

After breakfast it’s time to disembark. You will be transferred to the airport or your hotel. (B)
